Background & Personal Motivation
A lifelong athlete and wellness enthusiast, I have long believed in the role of movement and applied science in supporting healthy living.
From completing the Vancouver Marathon in 1981 and logging over 2,500 miles annually for three consecutive years of endurance training, to achieving Top 10 provincial Open-level ranking in racquetball and a C-ranking in tennis in 1997, I bring the same discipline and persistence to nutritional formulation and scientific inquiry.
In practice, I integrate solution chemistry, botanical ingredients, and whole-food preparation to develop nutrient-rich formulations designed to support metabolic balance, vitality, and healthy aging. These approaches are informed by peer-reviewed research and grounded in sustainable, evidence-based methodology.
I graduated from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby British Columbia, Canada with a BSc (1977) & MSc (1980) - Solution Chemistry and completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in 1990.
My current work focuses on the → Science Behind Botanical Juices & Soups for Healthy Aging and in my case, De-aging.
In January 2026, Bruce founded BACosgrove Scientific Researcher, Inc., a duly incorporated company in the Provence of British Columbia. The company specializes in applied solution chemistry and systems-based evaluation of biological and sustainable technologies. His work bridges environmental chemistry, mineral processing science, and botanical formulation systems to develop structured, reproducible approaches to health resilience and technological sustainability.
My focus is always the same: using nature’s chemistry to improve human wellbeing which reflects my broader philosophy that human health and environmental health are inseparable.
Manipueira Gold Recovery Technology, Inc.
"founded on the principles of sustainable science and health protection"
In July 2021, Bruce founded Manipueira Gold Recovery Technology, Inc., (f.k.a. Alchemy Mining Group, Inc.), a Company duly incorporated in the Province of British Colombia, Canada focused on the principles of sustainable science and health protection. The Company developed an ESG aligned four-stage transformational strategy designed to replace mercury-a potent neurotoxin and synthetic cyanide salts used by artisanal miners in Southern Ecuador with Manipueira (Manihot esculenta Crantz).
Manipueira, a naturally occurring, locally available toxic agricultural waste by-product from harvesting the bitter cassava plant and when used as a lixiviant (leaching agent), is scientifically documented to sustainably recover to 2-3x more gold faster from ore and toxic tailings wastes under controlled conditions.
Alchemy Mining Group, Inc.
"mandated to protect and preserve health, and the environment through the use of organic alternatives to mercury & synthetic cyanide salts for gold extraction"
In June 2015, Bruce founded Alchemy Mining Group, Inc., a Nevada-incorporated benefit corporation. In 2017, the company executed a Share Exchange Agreement with Alquimia Y Explotación Minera San Juan Alquiexmi S.A., the legal titleholder of two gold concessions in Ecuador’s Bella Rica district: Bella Rica (3,000 ha) and Guanache 3 de Mayo (133 ha).
By 2018, research identified the Portovelo-Zaruma mining district as one of the world's largest anthropogenic source of deadly global atmospheric mercury pollution driven by approximately 50,000 artisanal miners using mercury for gold recovery. In response, Bruce pivoted toward developing a sustainable lixiviant capable of outperforming mercury.
I pivoted my focus to source or develop a sustainable lixiviant (leaching agent) that would recover more gold and faster than using mercury. In 2021 I meet Dr. Marcello Veiga, (Marcello) P.Eng, Professor Emeritus, Norman B. Kevil Institute of Mining Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada who conceived of using Manipueira as a lixiviant to replace both mercury and synthetic cyanide salts.
Marcello, who along with PhD candidate Pariya Torkaman, modified the Merrill-Crowe gold cementation process (MMCP) and using Manipueira as a lixiviant demonstrated 99.3% sustainable gold recovery from ore concentrates and 99.6% from mercury-contaminated tailings in just two hours (Marcello M. Veiga & Pariya Torkaman, 2021).
1987 - Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) & US OTC Markets Platform - 2013
Between 1987 - 2013, Bruce served as interim President and CEO of multiple public companies, leading strategic acquisitions and financing initiatives across the former Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) and the U.S. OTC Markets platform.
Bruce studied the US Series 7 Securites Course and completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in 1990.
His work includes the development and commercialization of CHIP-based semiconductor technologies for real-time remote diagnostics of automotive onboard computer systems and structural integrity monitoring of oil and gas pipelines, consistently driving value for both private and public shareholders.
Moli Energy Ltd.
"the Canadian pioneer of rechargeable lithium battery technology"
Between 1980 and 1987, Bruce spent seven years with Moli Energy Limited (now E-One MOLICEL) as a chemist pioneering electrolyte research for the world’s first rechargeable lithium molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) battery, later serving as Marketing Director.
Bruce secured the company’s first externally funded U.S. military R&D contract (Fort Monmouth, NY) to develop a lightweight 12-volt DC lithium battery pack replacing lead-acid field systems, successfully integrating AC/DC circuitry within a D-cell format.
Bruce also supported Moli Energy’s 1986 public listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange, culminating in a record CAD $25 million technology financing.
Bruce along with team members were distinguished with the 1986 Canada Awards for Excellence - Moli Energy Ltd., (now E-One MOLICEL) Category - Invention.
CREDITS
Dodge City 2004
During 2008–2009, Bruce, as Managing Partner of Deacon Publishing and Film Production, LLC, acquired the film rights from Stephen C. Shaver, author of the published novel DODGE CITY 2004. Serving as Executive Producer, Bruce coordinated multiple writers to develop the manuscript for a full-length independent feature screenplay Dodge City 2004 (runtime: 2 hours and 10 minutes), registered with the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW Registry No. 1336579) and published under ISBN-10: 0615129196; ISBN-13: 978-0615129198.
Additionally, Bruce worked closely with the Director Doug Raine and the Unit Production Manager (UPM) to prepare the short-form production budget. Bruce successfully raised the required USD $453,000 through the sale of New Mexico Film Office Tax Credits and secured supplemental financing commitments from a retirement fund for $USD 10 million to support production of the independent feature film, until development was ultimately halted by the Great Recession.
